These are a few of my Favorite Things - Papers

Sometime people ask me what they should buy.

Now my favorite thing about scrapbooking is there is no right answer to this. Everyone has different tastes and different interesting and different pictures and so what is wonderful for one person would be a terrible fit for another.

That said, I don’t mind sharing which direction my tastes and interests have pushed me.

To start with my interest came from two things I loved growing up: photography and paper. My father is a professional photographer so I grew up around that industry and found it fascinating. My mother liked going to this great little paper store (way ahead of its time in the 80’s!) and so she always brought me great finds to play with.

Now photography is what should shine in a scrapbook page - but the paper it's on make a lot of difference.

So we’ll start with my favorite paper companies:

Bazzill makes the best cardstock. It’s heavy weight and strong. It feels good with a linen texture. And their colors are always vibrant. these are a scrapbooking essential! Check out the store locator on their site or do a search to find great deals.

BoBunny has fun mixes of color. They have large collections so you can mix and match and create tons of different pages. With whimsical patterns like these there are plenty of ideas to start you off.

And one of my all time favorite lines. Now typically I’m more into the rest of their line. There is nothing else out there like their embellishments. . but for this blog I’ll try to stay focused. There paper is very unusual. They tend to have a lot of real items on their pages. A very antiqued, grungy look. Some pages already come distressed making even a beginner’s pages look like they were done with complex techniques.

I could go on, but I think this is a good start.
Have a favorite I didn’t mention – feel free to comment.
