Converging Interests

In many ways, Scrapbooking became an interest of mine through another first interest. Photography.

I am the child of a professional photographer. This means many things. First that I have had private instruction with camera's that rival most school courses. But second, and more relevant, it means we have a LOT of photos.

Like most, some of our photos were in books that were only pulled out when someone visited. But as we flipped through you had to sit over the viewers shoulder and recite the endless litany of "oh that's so-and-so when we were at such-and-such". But most of these were kept in boxes that rarely saw the light of day.

I stumbled upon scrapbooking in it's early stages, and while the style of much of it didn't appeal, the idea of taking better care of, and labeling my photos, our memories did appeal.

And so I became a scrapbooker. There's of course more to it than that. But the specifics can be for another a day.

But my first passion is photography. So I've decided that I'll be sharing a piece of that on here as well. Photography is an important part of scrapbooking, the pictures should be the focus. And no matter how wonderful your pages are, without good photos they'll always fall short.
